Engineering & Documentation
Nordic Offshore Systems produces management-ready offshore engineering documentation — technical specifications, single-line diagrams, equipment lists, and revision-controlled baselines to DNV standards.
What we deliver
Offshore systems documentation is a deliverable in its own right — not a by-product of the project. Nordic Offshore Systems produces the documentation suite that operators, OEMs, and class societies need to close out a scope cleanly:
- Technical specifications and equipment lists for multi-vendor cable lay systems
- Single-line diagrams (SLDs) covering power distribution, control interfaces, and vessel integration points
- Baseline documentation packages to DNV standards, structured for class review and client handover
- Management-ready deliverables and reporting — formatted for decision-makers, not just engineers
Every deliverable is produced with revision control and traceability built in from the first draft. That means every change is logged, every version is recoverable, and the documentation baseline you hand over is the one that actually reflects the system as built.
Documentation discipline
In offshore projects, documentation is often treated as a close-out task — something to complete when the operational pressure eases. That approach produces incomplete baselines, mismatched revisions, and gaps that surface during the next maintenance cycle or regulatory audit.
Nordic Offshore Systems treats documentation as part of the engineering scope, not a trailing administrative task. Every engagement — from a short commissioning review to a full vessel-build follow-up — leaves a structured, revision-controlled documentation trail that the next team can pick up and use without starting from scratch.
That discipline is a differentiator. It reflects how documentation-grade work should be delivered: systematically, traceably, and to the standard the client actually needs.
Experience behind it
The documentation work is grounded in 16+ years offshore experience across 20+ projects and 7 OEM platforms, with zero lost-time incidents (zero LTI). That background means the specifications and diagrams are written by someone who has worked with the systems on deck — not produced from manufacturer data sheets alone.
Platform experience covers MAATS Tech, Huisman, NOV Remacut, Parkburn, MacGregor, Amclyde, and Flextrack cable lay equipment. Documentation produced across these platforms has supported class submissions, client handovers, and campaign close-outs on vessels including NKT Victoria and NKT Eleonora.
Knowing how a tensioner behaves under load, or where the interface ambiguities sit in a multi-vendor CLS, produces specifications that are accurate and complete — not just correctly formatted.
Who it's for
Engineering and documentation services are relevant to two client groups:
- Operators — cable-laying companies (NKT, Nexans, Prysmian) that need assurance-grade documentation from design review through campaign close-out, including SLDs, equipment lists, and revision-controlled baselines for their CLS and vessel systems
- Equipment OEMs — MAATS Tech, Huisman, NOV Remacut, and other manufacturers that need independent technical documentation support for deliveries, acceptance testing packages, or class submissions
If you are entering a campaign, preparing a class submission, or closing out a vessel build and need documentation that is traceable, complete, and to DNV standards, get in touch to discuss the scope.
